Agency. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) paratroopers’ exercise, which began in mid-May, has intensified over the month and is even preparing for war, Chinese military media reported on Tuesday.
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) brigade exercises in the desert in the northwest on June 1. The PLA Daily reported on Tuesday that the Army, Armed Vehicles, Artillery, Engineering Troops and Scouts are training in the actual war scenario.
Since the brigade was brought to the area, the troops have conducted various exercises including day-night live-fire test, tactical training and weapons test. And a brigade under the 74th Groups Army of the PLA Southern Theater Command is also conducting various exercises in northwest China. Some military analysts have linked the exercises to the border dispute between China and India.
After positive talks between the two countries’ senior military officials, experts say the dispute will not turn into a war or a military standoff like Doklam’s. However, experts say that India has created a structure on Chinese soil that has caused disputes and that the armies of the two sides will face each other before such disputes are resolved.
